Today, the Home Depot announced the appointment of Mark Vadon to the company's board of directors. He will serve as a member of the Audit and Finance committees. Vadon’s appointment gives the Home Depot 11 directors, 10 of them independent. Vadon co-founded Blue Nile, Inc., the leading online retailer of diamonds and fine jewelry in 1999 and has chaired the board of directors since its inception. In 2009, Vadon co-founded zulily, Inc., a daily deals site for moms, babies and kids. He serves as its board chairman.
