Overstock.com, Inc. has announced a partnership with the National Football League's Oakland Raiders to create several home game promotions at the O.co Coliseum. The online retailer's goal is to engage local Oakland Raiders fans during the 2012/2013 season, and the initiative also will support team merchandise the company offers on its website, including a range of home goods.
Online, Overstock.com offers a range of Raiders merchandise including wall décor, clocks, cutting boards, grilling tools, wine bags, gadgets, cocktail tools, cups and related products.
Overstock.com uses the name O.co for their coliseum relationship, as well as its international, mobile, travel, cars and insurance sites.
Overstock.com has created the O.co Coliseum home game feature dedicated to the Wounded Warrior Project, the non-profit organization that honors and empowers injured veterans of the United States armed forces. In the initiative, two different military members will get a game ticket for themselves and a guest from Overstock.com. At each Raiders home game, ceremonies will honor two Wounded Warriors.
In the Overstock.com Kickoff Challenge, a randomly selected home-game fan will receive a $5,000 gift card to Overstock.com if the Raiders return the opening kickoff that begins each half for a touchdown. If the Raiders don't return the kickoff for a touchdown, the eligible fan will receive a $50 Overstock.com gift card as a thank you gift for participating.
In April 2011, Overstock.com announced a six-year deal, in partnership with the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority that included naming rights to the home of the Oakland Raiders and Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics. As baseball season winds down, Overstock.com offers a range of Oakland Athletics home products including cups desk accessories, wall art and picture frames.
