Universal Security Instruments, Inc. (USI), a manufacturer and distributor of home safety and security products, has stepped up its marketing and social media initiatives for its smoke alarm products, including its newly developed IoPhic line. To educate consumers and raise awareness of the dangers of smoke alarm nuisances, and how to best protect homes and their occupants from both fast flaming and slow smoldering fires, USI recently developed and launched a consumer microsite and blog, located at smokeandgasalarms.com. The new site also links to USI’s dedicated company Facebook page, located at facebook.com/UniversalHomeSafety, and a YouTube channel. The platforms will offer tips, expert advice and videos on fire and home safety, smart alarm technology information, product brochures and other resources. Launched this year, USI's proprietary IoPhic smoke and fire alarm uses smart microprocessor technology to reduce and eliminate nuisance alarms, and protects consumers against both slow smoldering and fast flaming fires in one unit. The IoPhic microprocessor contains a proprietary algorithm that is said to allow the alarm to differentiate between everyday cooking smoke, steam and real fires.
