Yesterday, Suarez Corporation Industries announced the reopening of the former North Canton, OH Hoover sweeper plant effective in early 2013. Marketing promotion tests for SCI's new sweeper, the EdenPURE Perfect Storm, were successful, according to the company, which plans to utilize the former Hoover facility to manufacture and market the product. The EdenPURE Perfect Storm will be sold by direct order, in sweeper and hardware stores and to hotel chains and institutions such as hospitals. The company said its projections indicate that one to two million sweepers can be sold a year, which would create thousands of new sweeper manufacturing jobs at Hoover. There is the potential, according to the company, that eventually all 7,000 new sweeper manufacturing jobs that were lost when Hoover left could be replaced. The company’s marketing promotion included Joe Namath endorsing the EdenPURE sweeper. Tags: Housewares Vacuum Cleaners/Electric Cleaning |
