For its 2012 fiscal year, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, makers of Keurig branded single-serve coffee makers, has announced sales of $3.86 billion compared to sales of $2.65 billion in fiscal 2011, an increase of 46%. The company’s 2012 fiscal year included one additional week.

For its fiscal fourth quarter, ended September 29, the company reported net sales of $946.7 million compared to net sales for the comparable year-earlier quarter of $711.9 million, a 33% increase.

"Our fourth quarter fiscal year 2012 revenue and earnings growth speaks to GMCR's continued strategic progress and we believe points to the significant opportunity still ahead for the company," said GMCR's president and CEO, Lawrence Blanford. "We continue to drive awareness of Keurig single cup brewing, and consumers continue to embrace and adopt Keurig brewers and Keurig Brewed beverages as an integral part of their daily routine."

Green Mountain added several new additions to its Keurig line this year, including two new Vue single-serve platforms for retail that complement its K-cup platform. The company also introduced a commercially-targeted Vue system and, in the first fiscal quarter, its initial entry into the single-serve espresso maker category through a partnership with Italy’s Lavazza.

"The innovative spirit that pervades the entire GMCR organization is nothing less than inspiring," said Blanford. "In the span of less than 10 months, our organization has introduced two new brewing platforms, the Keurig Vue brewer and, in cooperation with our partner, Lavazza, the Keurig Rivo Cappucino and Latte system. We also introduced a Vue model for our away-from-home customers and multiple new beverages, including the very first varieties in our new Wellness Brewed collection."
