Once again this holiday season, Macy’s plans to keep multiple stores open 24 hours in the days leading up to Christmas. From Friday, December 21 at 7 a.m. through Sunday, December 23 at 7 a.m., 24 Macy's stores will remain in operation around-the-clock for last-minute shoppers who can choose from the broad assortment or a range of dedicated gifts. In addition to the 23 locations open 24 hours, Macy’s plans to keep 34 stores open until 2 a.m. on the critical dates. Macy’s plans to provide last minute bargain hunters with easy-to-purchase gifts in three designations: under $100, under $50 and under $25. Gifts under $100 include a Keurig Mini Plus single-serve coffee maker. However, the “under” products range widely. Items under $50 include a Marc Jacobs 3-piece Rollerball Fragrance Set and Initial Gold-plated and Silver-plated Pendants with crystals, while gifts under $25 include an Impulse Cosmetic Palette and Polaroid Headphones. "For the first time ever, Macy's will keep most stores open around the clock for the last weekend of holiday shopping, an expansion of our successful marathon that began at select stores in 2006," said Peter Sachse , Macy's chief stores officer. "We hope to make it easy for our customers across the country to finish their shopping at any time of day or night, and with the benefit of the great deals and value they count on from our One Day Sale events." Macy's established a holiday tradition of keeping doors open 24-hours in 2006 when the retailer ran around the clock operations at its Queens Center location in New York. Last year, Macy’s gave customers the chance to shop overnight in 14 locations, with 27 more offering extended hours.
