Dollar General Corp. has elected Sandy Cochran, president and CEO of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, to its board of directors. Cochran’s election brings the total number of directors on Dollar General’s board to nine, and the number of independent directors to five. Cochran will serve on the audit committee of Dollar General's board and has been designated an audit committee financial expert. Cochran joined Cracker Barrel in April 2009 as evp and CFO. She was named president and COO in November 2010 and appointed to her current position in September of 2011. She was previously CEO at book retailer Books-A-Million, Inc. and also served as that company's president, CFO and vp/finance.
