In anticipation of the holiday season, Target said it will hire 70,000 seasonal employees across its store base and 7,500 more workers for distribution and fulfillment facilities.
Existing employees will get the first opportunity at extra holiday hours, Target stated. To supplement their efforts, Target will hire the seasonal workers to boost customer service.
“The Target team is famous for serving up exceptional shopping experiences,” said Janna Potts, Target chief stores officer. “We can’t wait to welcome new seasonal team members on board to help us make the holidays extra bright for our guests. And new this year, all of our 1,800 stores will host dedicated hiring events in October, meeting with thousands of prospective candidates in just 48 hours.”
