After four years with Brian Kelley at the helm of Keurig Green Mountain, the company will soon have a new chief executive officer. On Wednesday, Keurig named Robert J. "Bob" Gamgort as the company’s new CEO effective May 2. Gamgort, who is currently serving as CEO of Pinnacle Foods Inc., will replace Kelley who going forward will serve as vice chairman of the company’s board of directors. "We are delighted that Bob will become the CEO and a key shareholder of Keurig,” said Bart Becht, chairman at Keurig and JAB, Keurig’s parent company. “Bob is one of the most talented and respected executives in the fast moving consumer goods industry, and his focus on growth and long-term value creation makes him an ideal partner for JAB, as well as its co-investors.” Gamgort said he sees “significant opportunity” to build upon Keurig’s combination of brands, partners and technologies by accelerating innovation and expanding penetration of single-serve systems. Prior to joining Pinnacle as CEO in 2009, Gamgort served as North American president for Mars Incorporated, where he managed the company's portfolio of confectionery, main meal, pet food and retail businesses. He joined Mars in 1998, initially serving as vp/marketing for M&M/Mars and then as general manager of its chocolate unit.
