Target is rolling out an international website, Intl.Target.com. Shoppers in more than 200 countries and territories can purchase from the international website, and customers in the United States can use it to ship orders to family and friends around the world globally, the company said. Target noted that it made the digital destination, which has been in test mode, available in time for this holiday season. Consumers in Canada, where Target closed out its brick-and-mortar stores earlier this year, are among those who can purchase from the site. Target developed the international site in partnership with Borderfree, a Pitney Bowes company. Consumers in the U.S. and abroad can shop about half the Target.com product assortment on the international site including apparel, beauty products, home décor, housewares, baby goods and toys, the retailer stated. Consumers outside the United States who access the Target website will transfer to the new international address. They can then designate their shipping destination and also choose the currency applicable. The prices will be equivalent to those offered in the U.S. on Target.com, the company asserted, and shown in the local currency site wide at the timely conversion rate. The site will translate the checkout page into the local language of the shipment destination and include an all-in price with shipping charges, duties and tariffs. “We believe international consumers will love shopping the great brands, great prices and exclusive products that are synonymous with Target,” said Jason Goldberger, president of Target.com and mobile. “Target.com already gets tens of millions of visitors every year from outside the U.S., and this test will give us even greater insight into how shoppers around the world engage with Target.”

With retailers already promoting like it’s the weekend before Christmas, it’s hard to look past the next three months. But now is actually when the first half of 2016 should start coming into focus, especially for tabletop and furniture companies at the New York and High Point markets.
