Vocal command compels certain advantages leading up to Amazon.com’s Prime Day, July 11, as the e-tailer has announced that shoppers who use its Alexa voice-control system will have access to more than 100 exclusive deals starting today.
Prime-participating voice shoppers also will have early access to select Prime Day deals a full two hours before the general public, beginning July 10 starting at 4 p.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time PT.
According to Amazon, the rotating deals that begin today include:
- Save $50 on Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker III.
- Save $20 on Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus 2nd Generation.
- Save $7 on Wemo Mini smart plug.
- Save 30% on Squatty Potty.
In the lead up to Prime Day, Alexa device owners who are not yet Prime members can use their voice to sign up for their first year of Prime membership for $79, a $20 savings from the standard price, for a limited time.
In addition to the Alexa deals, Prime members can enjoy voice-only promotions. First-time voice shopping customers who buy an Alexa deal item on Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, Amazon Tap, Fire TV or compatible Fire tablets between today and July 9 get a $10 Amazon promo code. Voice shoppers can also ask, “Alexa, what are your deals?” to find out about the latest promotions and to be entered into a $5,000 sweepstakes.
“This is going to be the most exciting Prime Day yet for voice shoppers,” said Assaf Ronen, Amazon vp/voice shopping. “We have deals on everything from smart home products to devices, chocolates and more starting today and going all the way through July 17th. Prime members have asked, ‘Alexa, what are your deals?’ more than three million times since we launched Alexa deals last year, and we’re thrilled to deliver even better deals this year.”
