Bon-Ton CEO Bufano Leaving In August

Major changes are coming to the executive management team at The Bon-Ton as its current president and CEO, Kathryn Bufano, is leaving the company in August.

Bufano is stepping down at the end of her contract on August 25 and will be replaced by William Tracy, the company’s current chief operating officer. Bufano will remain with the company through a transition period.

In addition, The Bon-Ton also appointed Chad Stauffer, one of the company’s current general merchandise managers, evp/chief merchandising officer reporting to the CEO. In this role, Stauffer will be responsible for leading the company’s merchandising strategy.

Tracy has served as chief operating officer of the company since 2015. Stauffer has spent more than nine years at The Bon-Ton, most recently serving as svp/general merchandise manager of center core and children’s.

In addition, Tim Grumbacher is retiring as chairman of the board of Bon-Ton and as the company’s strategic initiatives officer, effective May 13. He will continue to serve as chairman emeritus and advisor to the CEO. Debra Simon, a current member of the board of directors, has been elected to succeed Grumbacher as chairman of the board.
