Brita has introduced the Brita Stream water filtration pitcher and new Longlast Filters.
According to the company, the new pitcher filters water while the user pours rather than while filling the appliance. It is BPA-free, and features a space-efficient design with a 10-cup capacity. It is available in two designs and four colors: Carbon Gray, Chalk White, Chili Red and Lake Blue.
The filter technology is said to allow for faster filtration, and includes activated carbon to reduce chlorine taste and odor from tap water. The Brita Stream filter is only compatible with the new Brita Stream pitcher, the company said.
According to the company, its new Longlast filter lasts about six months and is certified to remove 99% of lead during the life of the filter. The Longlast filter is said to fit the majority of Brita pitchers.
“After decades of one size fits all in our category, we are now focused on providing water filtration products that fit people’s unique needs,” said Ed Huber, general manager of Brita. “For most people, the reason they buy water filtration is to get better-tasting water, and they want it to be fast and easy. Brita Stream solves that. For people who have concerns about the presence of other contaminants like lead Brita Longlast provides some peace of mind that will last six months.”
The pitcher is available now on Amazon.com for a suggested retail price of $34.99.
