Capresso Expands Coffeemaker Assortment

MONTVALE, NJ— Capresso is expanding its coffeemaker assortment with the debut of its SG300 stainless steel unit, which is equipped with a number of features at a pricepoint designed to appeal to a broad range of coffee loving consumers, company officials said.

The updated design offers a stainless steel housing, a GoldTone filter, charcoal water filtration and programmable 24-hour clock/timer. The unit also features a 12-cup glass carafe with ergonomic handle, brew-through lid and drip-free pouring spout. Multiple nozzles are said to spray water evenly for full saturation of coffee grounds and a special setting is provided to maximize flavor when brewing just one to four cups. A drip stop allows the user to pour a cup while brewing.

“When we look at what’s happening in the marketplace, we see brands removing important features from their coffee makers— such as water filtration and permanent filters— to hit the $79.99 pricepoint,” said April Strogen, director of marketing, Capresso. “We designed the Capresso SG300 stainless steel coffee maker to fill the niche in the market for a mid-level coffee maker designed with no compromises.”

Now available, the SG300 also includes a coated, non-stick heating plate that is said by the company to keep a pot of coffee warm for up to two hours.

Capresso’s sister brand, Jura, was recently honored with a 2016 Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum for its Z6 coffee center.

According to the company, the Z6 won based on its cutting-edge design, concept, materials, construction, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment.

Among the notable features on the unit is its Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.) that is said by the company to optimize extraction time to guarantee professional quality, barista-style espresso. It also includes a ceramic valve that allows for an automatic switchover from heated milk to milk foam and offers 10 different milk temperatures settings.

The Z6 also features Jura’s rotary dial and large color TFT display, allowing consumers to “turn and press” to select and brew their desired coffee specialty. The unit is currently available and carries a retail price of $3,699.
