The Container Store is opening its 79th retail location this weekend in Alpharetta, GA, and employees there came on the scene in time to enjoy special recognition. In Alpharetta and Container Store’s other 78 retail locations, the company home office and its distribution center, the organization has been celebrating “We Love Our Employees Day.”
The celebration, the company noted, includes in-store signage, music, balloons and sweet treats served by Container Store executives and store management teams. In addition, each of Container Store’s 5,000 employees is receiving a keepsake journal inspired by the lessons of leadership and personal development that came out of the company’s Leadership Conference in July, as well as a set of markers from vendor Poppin.
“At the heart of our company are our employees who bring their whole selves to work each day to ensure that everything we do for all of our stakeholders— for our customers, each other, our vendors, our community and shareholders— is executed with passion, commitment, excellence and love,” said Container Store chairman and CEO Kip Tindell. “We Love Our Employees Day is a moment to say thank you to our amazingly talented colleagues we get to work alongside who are constantly changing our customers’ lives for the better by delivering upon the promise of an organized life.”
Tindell along with company president and COO Melissa Reiff and chief merchandising officer Sharon Tindell shared their love through a fun video on Container Store’s YouTube channel and culture blog. The blog post encourages customers to spread the Valentine’s Day sentiment by posting a “love note” about Container Store employees for a chance to win one of 10 $100 Store More Cards.
