Contigo is rolling out its Autospout Ashland glass water bottle at Target this month. The bottle design has also been offered in Tritan and stainless steel versions.
“Research shows that sales growth of glass water bottles is in the double digits compared to one year ago,” said Todd Starr, vp/marketing and product development, Contigo, a business of Newell Rubbermaid.
The Ashland glass bottle is enclosed in a geometric protective silicone sleeve. It features a one-touch drink spout designed for one-handed drinking, and it is said to be leak-proof when closed. The bottle also comes equipped with a spout lock to prevent accidental pressing of the Autospout button.
In addition, the bottle also features a protective spout shield to keep out dirt and germs and a clip-on handle attaches to bags and backpacks. An angled straw reaches the bottom of the bottle so that no drops are left behind. It is top-rack dishwasher safe, fits most car cup holders and holds 20 ounces.
The Contigo Autospout Ashland glass bottle has a suggested retail price of $19.99. It will also be available on Amazon.com in December.
