Cost Plus World Market has relaunched its Craft program, which features rotating global furnishings styles, as a focused collection of artisan crafts that begins with the theme Morocco.
Recognized for its imported crafts and decorative accessories, Cost Plus said it will launch the new Craft program in part to underscore its positioning as a retailer that brings unique and authentic items from around the world to its local stores across the U.S.
The Morocco collection includes more than 60 items from the cities of Fez, Marrakesh, and Safi, and includes pottery, hand painted accent furniture, woven baskets, poster prints and slippers. Among featured items, a Star accent table has been hand crafted and painted by a master artisan in Marrakesh. Woven baskets, crafted by women in the Atlas Mountains in vibrant colors, also feature in the collection as does the intricately patterned Safi ceramic platter and vase.
The Craft program will change countries or regions every few months, giving World Market customers exposure to each area’s rich cultural history through artisan crafts, the company stated.
