Craft Culture Fuels Body Manual Coffee Maker Debuts

CHICAGO— Fueled by the continued rise of craft coffee culture, Bodum will be showcasing its latest lineup of non-electric coffee makers at the International Home + Housewares Show, here.

Over the last few years, the company said that it has witnessed the home brewing sections expand in many of its retail partners. French presses and stovetop espresso makers have long been part of the Bodum product portfolio. However, more recently, Bodum has added cold brew and pour over coffee makers into the mix to tap into the evolving tastes of consumers.

At this year’s show, the company will feature its new 2017 promotional colors for its popular Caffettiera French press line. The promotional colors are something Bodum has been doing for its customers to help them refresh their assortment and also entice consumers that are interested in choosing coffee makers that match their home and kitchen décor.

To that end, the plastic frame of Bodum’s 8-cup and 3-cup versions of its Caffettiera French press will be available in cream, forest green, olive green and orange. The French press has a stainless steel body and plunger and a borosilicate glass beaker. The 8-cup has a suggested retail price of $15, while the 3-cup has a suggested retail price of $10.

For its Java French press line, Bodum will feature the coffee makers with a black or white plastic case. The Java also comes in an 8-cup (SRP $20) or 3-cup (SRP $17) size.

Bodum’s 6-cup Chambord stovetop espresso maker is made of stainless steel and has a heat-conductive design that is said to quickly brew espresso. It has a suggested retail price of $80 and can be used with various stovetops.

A recent introduction, Bodum’s 12-cup cold brew coffee maker, comes with two lids— one to be used in the refrigerator overnight and one that has a plunger to press down the coffee grounds in the morning. The cold brew coffee maker is available in six colors, including black, white and the company’s 2017 promotional colors. The coffee maker has a plastic beaker, plunger and frame and has a suggested retail price of $40.

Bodum also recently introduced its pour over cork coffee maker, which features a cork band with leather strap. The coffee maker is now available in an 8-cup ($25 SRP) or 4-cup ($22 SRP) size. With the pour over maker, Bodum introduced an alternative method for brewing coffee, this time utilizing hot water and coffee grounds. To use the coffee maker, consumers soak the grounds held in the filter and then pour additional water to enable the coffee to drip through the mouth-blown borosilicate glass carafe for approximately three to four minutes.

The company will also feature cork in its Yohki storage jars, which have a $10 to $24 SRP range. The jars are made of glass and are designed to store coffee grounds, loose tea or other dry ingredients.
