The Dallas Market Center has named Sarah Penrod, Jim White and Caroline Perini as judges of the 2017 Gourmet Gold Specialty Food Awards. The awards, sponsored by sister publication, GOURMET INSIDER®, will be held during the upcoming Dallas Total Housewares & Gourmet Market, June 21 to 27.
Sarah Penrod, a professional chef, TV personality and Texas mom, brings her special brand of glamour with unique recipes including modern twists on favorite traditional dishes mixed with a healthy helping of spitfire attitude, said the Dallas Market Center.
Jim White is a major-market media veteran, who has blended his passion for broadcasting, social media, and special events with his love of food, wine and travel. White is the founder of Savor Dallas, author, radio host, and business owner.
Co-owner of Easy Slider Food Truck and restaurant, Caroline Perini has a long history of food love and appreciation.
Food entries are judged on originality, taste, and packaging. Winners in the 10 categories will be revealed during an awards ceremony and cocktail reception on June 23 at 6 p.m. in the World Trade Center 1st floor atrium. The award categories include: Best Baked, Best Beverage, Best Condiment I, Best Condiment II, Best Fruit Confit, Best Soup/Chili, Best Chocolate Candy/Dessert, Best Non-Chocolate Candy/Desert, Best Snack and the newest addition, Best Healthy Lifestyle.
