CHICAGO— Dexas International is debuting Mix interlocking cutting boards at the International Home + Housewares Show, here.
The boards, according to the company, are made of earth-friendly bamboo and food-safe poly and are essentially two boards in one. The poly insert, in either faux granite or marble, fits into a large well on one side of the bamboo board. One of the two designs features a wide well on one end, to hold cut items.
The boards are tapping into the current mixed material trend that has been emerging based on the consumer’s enhanced interest in multi-functional uses of cutting boards, such as using them to serve on while entertaining.
Dexas explained that the boards are also reversible therefore providing four prep and serving services along with the combination of natural bamboo fibers mixed with realistic looking granite and marble finishes. The boards have a suggested retail price of $29.99 each.
Dexas also said it is further expanding its wood cutting board with the introduction of eco-friendly bamboo by applying it to some of its patented and original designs. One such item is the bamboo kitchen work board that features a drop-down edge so that it stays securely against the edge of the counter.
According to the company, the kitchen work board was reimagined in bamboo and features crushed bamboo accent stripes. The boards have a suggested retail price of $29.99, while the pastry board with guides has a suggested retail price of $39.99.
Outside of cutting boards, Dexas will also showcase its latest silicone kitchen tools. The new Spoon & Strain tongs feature redesigned silicone heads. One side is solid and can be used to spoon out small portions of sauces, while the other side is slotted and strains hot liquids.
Dexas stated that the silicone heads are high-heat resistant and feature a scalloped edge that grips small pieces tightly. The tongs now also feature a gravity lock mechanism, which makes them easier to use and store. They have stainless steel construction and come with soft grip handles.
