With online retail competition becoming ever sharper, eBay is making a move to grab the attention of digital shoppers with a price match guarantee.
The eBay promise covers more than 50,000 deals as offered in the U.S. Under it, eBay guarantees that an eligible deal provides the best price online versus competitor offers. If it isn’t best, eBay will match the lower competitor price, the company said.
Competitors eBay cited in the price match guarantee initiative were Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Jet.com, HomeDepot.com, Sears.com, Target.com, Walmart.com and Wayfair.com.
“Shoppers can shop with confidence knowing that they’re getting the best value available on eBay,” said Hal Lawton, eBay svp/North America. “Our eBay deals selection has grown exponentially since being launched in 2011. The vast majority of our deals are already lower priced or equal to our competitors, but if a shopper finds it for less, we’ll gladly match the price of our competitors.”
