Gibson Overseas is debuting new handcrafted India-made serveware under its Laurie Gates brand at the New York Tabletop Market, to be held April 4 to 7.
“Each area of the world offers a different perspective on product. The artisanal quality of India product is something that’s not been widely available before,” said Connie Bowman, Gibson’s vp/product development.
The Laurie Gates Siryana Collection features metal serveware designed for the modern table, yet crafted with a centuries old sand casting technique. The collection also feature new techniques, like enamel applied directly to native-grown mango and acacia woods, and serving pieces that merge cast iron and wood into a single mixed material piece. The items also feature handpainted Henna designs.
“The collection dynamically meets the needs of Millennials that are looking beyond the local to more inclusive global tastes,” said Laurie Gates, Gibson’s vp/creative and merchandising.
