FRANKFURT— Gibson Overseas will highlight new dinnerware concepts and designs at the Ambiente fair at Messe Frankfurt, to be held February 10 to 14.
For example, Gibson is focusing on reenergizing its opening pricepoint dinnerware options with new finishes.
“The dinnerware business has struggled recently because it has been too focused on commodity goods and providing high-fashion at prices beyond the reach of most consumer’s economic realities,” said Laurie Gates, Gibson’s vp/creative and merchandising. “We worked hard to find the middle ground, one where fashion, quality and value could all live together.”
For example, Gibson’s Soho Lounge Round dinnerware has a two-tone color scheme combined with a reactive glaze finish. The company’s Just Dine Bistro Edge dinnerware features an updated classic bistro look featuring vivid blue or red bands on classic white porcelain.
Gibson also is debuting its Everything Bowl, which is designed to be used with any meal or occasion, a concept tapping into retail and consumer demand for a versatile, casual bowl.
“We want to help our retail partners jump on this new trend with a variety of new patterns, shapes and designs for bowls,” said Tom Wien, Gibson’s marketing and licensing director.
Gibson will also showcase its Laurie Gates branded dinnerware, in experimental glazes and color palettes.
