With smart home technology continuing to find its way into the kitchens of Americans, Gourmia is looking to tap into this trend with two new Wi-Fi enabled kitchen appliances.
The Turbo Cook Center & Air Fryer and Sous Vide Precision Cooker Immersion Pod allow the user through Wi-Fi to connect to companion apps that take the home cook step-by-step through the functions offered by each appliance.
“Wi-Fi is not just for checking social media or getting on the Internet, it’s also a time saver for cooks,” said Sam Ash, Gourmia chief marketing officer. “Making healthy, delicious meals at home just became easier for today’s busy chef with the new app enabled air fryer and Sous Vide Pod from Gourmia.”
According to Ash, the app walks the user through various recipes while also allowing the functions of both units to be controlled when not in the kitchen. The app also notifies the user when a meal is ready.
As part of the sous vide unit’s introduction, Gourmia has partnered with Jason Logsdon, a best-selling author, who is including his original sous vide recipes in the companion mobile apps. His books include Modernist Cooking Made Easy: Sous Vide, a best seller that hit the number one on Amazon for both slow cooking and gourmet cooking, the company said. The company’s new Turbo Cook Center & Air Fryer features state-of-the-art calorie-reduction technology to make meals with optimal taste and crispiness, while eliminating the need to add fats and oil during the cooking process, according to the company. The unit makes use of two different scientific heating methods: convection and radiant. The design uses Halogen heating while continuously circulating hot air to cook food, instead of relying on oil.
Utilizing its companion apps, chefs are able to control the air fryer from anywhere there is an Internet connection. The unit offers 20 distinct cooking modes and is offered with 11 versatile attachments along with a cookbook.
