Health Tip Tuesday: Power Your Brain

Power Your Brain
When we feed ourselves well, we fuel our brains to perform at the optimal level.”

Did you know that your brain is actually more efficient during the winter? A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that even though participants’ brain activity was lower during the winter months, their performance and alertness was equally as high as throughout the summer and fall. This means that we are actually working better during the winter! How do we access this power? The winter chill does not go away, our brains have simply become adept at responding to this feeling. The best way to truly feel better when it’s 7:30 a.m. and you’re heading to the office in thirty degree weather is to take care of yourself, physically. When we feed ourselves well, we literally fuel our brains to perform at the optimal level. Try some of these superfoods to really tap into your brain’s secret energy source!
