The High Point Market Authority is preparing its keynote series for the fall market, which will be held October 14 to 18.
Three keynote events on tap feature SCAD University’s Paula Wallace; Jonathan and Drew Scott, HGTV hosts of “The Property Brothers;” and design industry celebrities Ashley and India Hicks.
In conjunction with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the first keynote session kicks off the market’s Design Viewpoints Series on October 14. Paula Wallace, president and founder of Savannah College of Art and Design, will share the history behind SCAD’s award-winning built environment, preservation efforts and school-led design projects.
Also set for opening day, HGTV celebrities Jonathan and Drew Scott will take the stage to discuss their passion for the details that add up to building their Scott Living global home goods brand.
The final session in the series, on October 15, features designers Ashley and India Hicks. Presenting together for the first time, the siblings will share memories of growing up with their father, interior designer David Hicks, recounting how the experience has served their own, unique design paths.
In addition, HPMA noted at the industry’s annual American Home Furnishings (AHF) Hall of Fame event, set for October 15, retired General Colin Powell will deliver the evening’s keynote address on the subject of leadership.
“It’s our aim to enhance the market buying experience for attendees by offering informative, business-building content,” said Tom Conley, president and CEO, HPMA.
