Housewares Design Awards Recognizes 2017 Winners

LAS VEGAS— A high-performance food processor, a robotic vacuum cleaner and a vegetable spiralizer took “Best of the Best” honors at the 2017 Housewares Design Awards gala and ceremony, here.

The “Best of the Best” honorees were among the 12 “Best in Category” award winners presented during the awards ceremony during the Winter Las Vegas Market at World Market Center Las Vegas.

The Best of the Best Gold award went to the Electrolux Masterpiece Food Processor, a 17-cup food prep appliance featuring PowerTilt technology and a 1,200-watt TurboBoost induction motor.

The iRobot Roomba 960 vacuum cleaner won the “Best of the Best” Silver award. The vacuum uses localization and mapping technology to build a map of its environment as it cleans while keeping track of its location until it has finished.

The “Best of the Best” Bronze award went to the Oxo Good Grips Hand-Held Spiralizer, designed to make spirals with a square cross section for vegetable noodles that are uniform, curly and approximate the texture of spaghetti.

The ceremony also featured a presentation of the first annual Housewares Design Awards Design Influencer of the Year to West Elm Local, accepted by Mo Mullen, director of business development for West Elm Local.

The 2017 Housewares Design Awards were presented by HOMEWORLD BUSINESS® and hosted for the first time by Las Vegas Market with sponsorship by Whitford Corporation.
