Hudson’s Bay Company Adds To Creative Team

Hudson’s Bay Company announced the appointment of Michael Crotty as evp, chief marketing officer, Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor and Russ Hardin, svp, chief creative officer, Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor.

Both Crotty and Hardin will report to Liz Rodbell, incoming president, HBC Department Store Group, effective November 11, 2013.

“The new leadership will help us drive our marketing and creative efforts at Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor as we embark on our long term growth strategies,” said Rodbell. “Michael and Russ are experts in their respective fields with proven track records of success and I am thrilled to welcome them to the team.”

According to HBC, Crotty brings more than 25 years multi-channel retailing and brand management marketing experience, the last 10 years concentrated in retail, holding progressively senior positions at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and, most recently, Nordstrom. As evp, chief marketing officer, Crotty will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy for Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor.

Hardin has domestic and global branding experience with such luxury and mid-tier retailers as Saks, Avon Products, Lord & Taylor and, most recently, Kohl’s Department Stores, in addition to running his own brand development agency. In his new role, Hardin will be responsible for building all creative elements for Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor, as well as the leadership of social media, PR and events, according to the company.

Crotty and Hardin will be based in both Toronto and New York, with teams in both markets supporting their respective banners.
