Ikea has appointed Matt Hunsicker as manager of its future Grand Prairie, TX store, opening fall 2017.
Hunsicker was previously store manager at the Ikea Canton, MI, location in metropolitan Detroit.
The Grand Prairie location will be the second Dallas-Forth Worth Ikea store, and the fourth in the state. Ikea also plans to open a Fort Worth location in summer 2019. The company already has set a summer 2019 store opening in Live Oak, near San Antonio. Two other Ikea stores, located in Houston and Round Rock, currently operate in Texas.
“We are very excited about opening our second store in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where there are many Ikea customers as well as others who may not know us yet, but are anxious for us to open closer to them,” said Lars Petersson, Ikea U.S. president. “Matt’s experience at Ikea, managing all retail functions through the years, combined with his Texas roots, make him the ideal choice to lead the future Ikea Grand Prairie.”
