Hunter Fan Company has released its second WiFi-enabled ceiling fan, the Apache. Like its earlier counterpart, the Signal connected fan, the Apache exclusively supports Apple HomeKit technology.
According to the company, Apple HomeKit technology allows users to control each fan, or a group of fans, from one place using the new iOS 10 Home app or Siri on their iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.
Users can set up HomeKit-enabled products to work together based on triggers, such as having the fan’s light turn on the moment the fire alarm detects smoke or creating a situation that automatically turns on the fan’s light and locks the front door simultaneously. In addition, HomeKit technology provides security with end-to-end encryption and authentication between the fan and the device.
“We are thrilled to continue the momentum of our Apple HomeKit supported product line with the launch of the Apache,” said John Alexander, CEO, Hunter Fan Company.
The Apache ceiling fan features exposed hardware, bronze finish and distressed oak finished blades and retails for $429. It is now available on Amazon.com, Build.com, HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com and Menards.com.
