Bodum is looking to build on its long history in the coffee segment with the launch of its e-PEBO unit, an electronic version of its PEBO vacuum coffeemaker.
To be seen at the International Home + Housewares Show, the new coffeemaker is said to offer an effective vacuum brewing method to allow for the extraction of oils from coffee. The vacuum brewing process is entirely sealed to prevent aroma from escaping.
According to the company, the brewing time and temperature are calibrated to ensure proper brewing of coffee. The e-PEBO is able to brew coffee within 5 minutes to 11 minutes and produce from 4 cups to 8 cups.
The unit features an upper funnel that is made of borosilicate glass with the lower bowl made of 100% BPA-free Tritan plastic. The handle that is attached to the lower portion of the unit is made of a soft, comfortable rubber and available in either black or white, while the base controls the four-minute brew cycle.
To brew a pot of coffee, the user places ground coffee in the unit’s upper bowl. Upon activating e-PEBO, the water reaches a temperature of 201.4° Fahrenheit and travels through the funnel due to the pressure generated by the steam. The water now sits in the upper bowl and brews the coffee. After four minutes, the coffee will flow back to the lower bowl and the unit will automatically shut off.
