Ikea is preparing to release its 2018 U.S. catalog in August, this year with a focus on the living room and a fresh theme: Make room for life.
Consumers can view the catalog in a printed version, available August 2 at local Ikea stores; a digital version, available starting August 7 with capabilities such as saving favorite products and creating shopping lists; and a catalog app starting August 7, with richer content including videos and an augmented reality feature that allows users to virtually place Ikea products in their homes.
Ikea emphasized the changing ways consumers meet, socialize and live in their homes, especially in the living room, which has become a more fluid space that serves many purposes. The retailer also highlights smart, affordable home furnishing solutions that consumers can adapt and customize. From a media center that doubles as a storage unit to a modular sleep sofa for a home full of visitors, Ikea has been designing multi-purpose solutions that enable consumers to create the living rooms that work best for them and meet their at-home daily lives, the company said.
“We are encouraging people to make space for their needs and dreams,” said Shideh Hashemi, marketing manager, Ikea U.S. “As homes rapidly change to fit our lifestyles, we want to inspire and enable people to make room for the things they love in life.”
