In a boost to the company’s presence in the Midwest United States, Ikea will open its new Columbus, OH, store at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7.
The Columbus store will be the company’s second in Ohio, after the West Chester location.
The 354,000-square-foot Ikea Columbus store sits on a 33-acre pad at the northeastern corner of Interstate 71 and Gemini Place in the Polaris Centers of Commerce. The store will mount one of Ohio’s largest rooftop solar arrays, the company noted, consistent with the solar power presence at 90% of Ikea U.S. facilities.
“We are thrilled by the excellent construction progress made to date, and believe we can complete the remaining milestones and interior build up by early June,” said David Garcia, store manager, Ikea Columbus. “Besides furnishing our store, we also are focused on continuing recruitment and training of all the coworkers joining the Ikea family. We look forward to introducing central Ohio customers to a whole new way of shopping for the home.”
