iRobot Launches Connected Roomba 960 Vacuum

iRobot has launched its Roomba 960 robotic vacuum, designed with intelligent visual navigation and the company’s Home app control with wireless connectivity.

According to the company, the new robotic vacuum extends mapping, adaptive navigation with visual localization and cloud connected app control, providing high-efficiency and systematic cleaning at a more accessible pricepoint. The Roomba 960 is now available and carries a suggested retail price starting at $699.

The company added that the iRobot Home App is also available for the Braava jet mopping robot as well. For Braava jet models, the app allows users to start and stop their Bluetooth enabled vacuum from a smartphone, access customizable cleaning settings, initiate software updates and access customer support.

“As iRobot continues its push to address significant opportunities within the connected home, we are very excited to bring Roomba 960 and Braava jet app compatibility to market,” said Colin Angle, chairman and CEO of iRobot. “This is a significant milestone as we are now able to offer a more accessible Roomba with mapping capabilities and cloud connected features across multiple product lines. iRobot will continue to build upon its connected robot technologies moving forward, allowing for an enhanced customer experience and for our products to play a larger role within the smart home.”
