JC Penney confirmed reports today that Jan Hodges will take on the role of svp/gmm for JC Penney’s home goods section on November 1. She replaces Paul Rutenis, who left JC Penney in July.
Hodges was most recently svp of marketing, overseeing the company’s sales and promotional strategy. Previously, she served as svp of JCPenney Salons. She began her career at JCPenney in 1988, progressing through merchandising roles including senior buyer of Juniors; DMM of women’s dresses, suits and outerwear; DMM of casual sportswear; and SVP, GMM of women’s accessories and intimates. Before joining JCPenney,Hodges spent nine years in various buying positions at Sanger Harris and Foley’s department stores. She holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Texas.
