CHICAGO— The Johnsonville brand has long been a staple in the meat departments of supermarkets across the country.
Now, the brand is entering the world of housewares with a countertop grill designed exclusively for Johnsonville’s sausages. The Sizzling Sausage Grill will be on display here at the International Home + Housewares Show.
“Grilling can be complicated for some consumers,” said Shelly Stayer, owner of Johnsonville Sausage. “It requires quite an effort, and depending on where you live and what season it is, grilling outdoors isn’t always an ideal option. With this grill, you plug it in and in 15 minutes or less, you have evenly grilled fresh sausage.”
The unit features removable upper and lower grill plates that include a non-stick coating and are dishwasher safe. A patented temperature probe alerts the user when the sausage is cooked to a safe temperature, eliminating guesswork for the home cook.
In addition, the enclosed design is said to seal completely when locked, which allows for even cooking. Accommodating up to five sausages, the grill comes with a two-year limited warranty and carries a retail price of $99.99.
