Jura Unwraps New Coffee Appliances For Holidays

MONTVALE, NJ— In time for the fourth quarter and holiday shopping season, Jura is launching several new coffee brewers under its Jura and Capresso brands.

On the Jura side, the company is expanding its assortment with the new J6 unit. The coffeemaker features the Aroma G3 grinder and Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.). The grinder is said by the company to be twice as fast as other grinders, but designed to gently grind beans to preserve their aroma. The P.E.P. system is said to optimize extraction time when making ristretto and espresso beverages.

The J6 allows consumers to make 13 popular beverages ranging from classic coffee to cappuccino, latte macchiato and the trendy flat white. The color TFT screen and rotary switch allow for selection of the desired beverage.

The coffee appliance also features the Intelligent Water System (I.W.S.) that automatically detects the filter, while the Clearyl Smart filter ensures optimal water quality, according to the company. A separate hot water spout, a container for milk system cleaning and integrated maintenance programs are also included and can be activated at the touch of a button. A new storage insert on top of the machine holds the interchangeable milk spout and milk pipe, storing them in a hygienic, space-saving manner. This insert is removable and dishwasher safe.

The Swiss-made J6 automatic coffee center will be available in September 2017, with a suggested retail price of $2,999.

Also launching later this year is the Jura A1, a slim-line one-cup machine that also includes the P.E.P. system and Aroma G3 grinder.

“The A1 fills a special niche in the Jura range, focused solely on coffee, not milk-based coffee specialties,” said David Shull, svp/sales and marketing, Jura.

The A1 unit features an aroma preservation cover on the bean container and the Clearyl Blue filter. The variable brewing chamber can brew six to 10 grams of coffee, and Jura’s Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System (I.P.B.A.S.) serves to maximize flavor. The A1 also features an energy save mode and zero energy switch.

The A1 brewer is offered in piano black will be available in August 2017, with a retail price of $799.

On the Capresso side, the company is debuting its EC300 Espresso & Cappuccino Machine. The unit features an illuminated knob that controls brewing, frothing and steam while the dual frother wand provides steam or froth for cappuccinos and lattes. A new built-in warming platform on top of the unit preheats cups allowing beverages to stay hotter, longer, according to the company.

Other features include a stainless-steel lined ThermoBlock heating system, a 15-bar pump said to provide optimal pressure for rich crema, a heavy-duty portafilter that includes two sieves to make one or two crema espressos at one time and a removable 42-ounce water tank.

The EC300 espresso and cappuccino machine is offered with a one year limited warranty and will be available this fall with a suggested retail price
of $149.99.

With automatic milk frothers continuing to grow in popularity, Capresso is tapping into this burgeoning market with its Capresso Froth Control, a unit the company claims is the first such model that can accommodate chocolate chips and chunks to create frothy hot chocolate. The unit can also be used to froth milk for cappuccinos, lattes and other trendy specialty beverages.

The new design features one-button operation with illuminated controls. There are four settings from which to choose: cold froth, hot froth, hot milk or hot chocolate. The special hot chocolate function allows the user to add chips, chunks, powder or syrup directly into the pitcher.

Also included are two frothing disks and one heating disk that store securely in the bottom of the base, a removable see-through pitcher with stay-cool handle that can accommodate 10 ounces for frothing or 14 ounces for heating and dual auto shut-off.
