Kuhn Rikon Launches Microwave Pressure Cooker

CHICAGO- Kuhn Rikon is taking pressure cooking to the microwave and will show its new Duromatic Micro microwave pressure cooker at the International Home + Housewares Show, here.

The Duromatic Micro features an accurate pressure indicator and two safety elements that protect against excess pressure. There are foldout handles on the sides and a locking lid that secures to the base. The pressure cooker has a 4-quart capacity and comes in two colors – red with red accents or gray with green accents.

“The development of the Duromatic pressure cooker is based on the practical idea of cooking in a faster, healthier and energy-saving way,” said Pascal Gull, product manager, Kuhn Rikon.

The pressure cooker comes with a recipe book with more than 40 recipes as well as a reference guide for grains. It carries a suggested retail price of $60.

Kuhn Rikon will also be showing two new fry pan collections, the Kuhn Rikon Easy Induction Frying Pan and Easy Induction Frying Pan High Wall.

According to the company, the pans are made of forged aluminum and has a 3-layer non-stick coating that is reinforced with titanium particles. The layered coating is PFOA-free, and provides for easy cleaning, said Kuhn Rikon.

In addition, the company designed the pans to be durable with increased resistance to wear and tear. Dishwasher safe and light in weight, the new fry pans can be used on any cooking surface, including induction, electric, gas, Ceran and halogen.

The Kuhn Rikon Easy Induction Frying Pan comes in three sizes, with 7.8-inch, 9.5-inch and 11.8-inch diameters.  The sides, which are curved to accommodate frying and stirring, are 1.75 inches high, the company said. The suggested retail price range is $24 to $36.

The Easy Induction Frying Pan High Wall is offered in the same three sizes, with 2.5-inch high sides. The company said that this shape is especially well suited for large quantities of one-pot dishes, braising meat or frying chicken. The suggested retail prices range from $26 to $40.

Swiss designed, the new pans come with a 2-year limited warranty and are available for immediate shipment.
