Lamps Plus will open its first store in Austin, TX, on September 29, which will bring the company’s store count to 39 across the U.S.
The Austin location represents the first new Lamps Plus store to open in eight years. It will incorporate a new format highlighting various room vignettes that combine lighting, furniture and home décor. At the same time, Lamps Plus wants to demonstrate its strength in the core lighting category and is using both floor and ceiling space to present portable lighting, chandeliers, pendant lights and ceiling fans. Stylized tower displays will showcase table lamps and wall lights. The Austin store will also emphasize LED technology.
Online kiosks will encourage online browsing of the company’s entire inventory.
“Our business is thriving and we’re seeing a strong demand to open stores in new regions as customers want to see our designs in-person when possible,” said Dennis Swanson, Lamps Plus CEO. “Austin will be a landmark for a new direction forward to utilize a new format and to reach a diverse audience with high expectations for a multi-channel experience.”
