Las Vegas Market Expands Handmade Focus

The Las Vegas Market will increase its handmade gift and home décor resources, craft-focused programming and artisan industry partnerships for the summer market, set to take place from July 30 to August 3.

The growth in handmade, the market said, is designed to mirror the growing demand in the industry. There will be more than 320 handmade gift and home décor resources, from across the U.S. and around the world and representing all media and product categories, featured in both permanent showrooms and in temporary exhibits in The Pavilions at Las Vegas Market.

In an expansion of its partnership with CRAFT (Craft Retailers & Artists for Tomorrow), Las Vegas Market will present two artisan-focused seminars as well. “America Gets Crafty!” will address how American Craft Week can help boost in-store traffic and generate sales of American-made products, while “Meet the Makers” will feature a panel of makers and curators of artisanal products who will explore the path from concept to creation, while staying true to an original vision.

“Las Vegas has experienced substantial and steady increases in handcrafted exhibitors, with a record 320 artisan resources confirmed for the summer market,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president, gift leasing, and CMO, International Market Centers.
