Legacy Companies Acquires Vinturi, Yonanas

The Legacy Companies continues to expand its assortment of housewares products with the acquisition of Vinturi from Focus Products Group and the Yonanas Consumer Retail Division from Winston Products.

Vinturi offers a selection of wine accessories and is best known for its red wine aerator, which debuted in 2007. The aerator has a patented design that is said to speed up the breathing process by aerating in the time it takes to pour a glass of wine.

“The Vinturi brand represents quality and innovation,” said Neal Asbury, CEO of The Legacy Companies. “It is a dynamic, global category-leading brand that holds patents for useful products.”

The acquisition of Yonanas brings Legacy an appliance that debuted in 2011 and has sold more than 3 million units globally, the company said. Touted as a premier lifestyle brand, the Yonanas maker combines frozen bananas and any additional fruit or chocolate and instantly churns the ingredients to produce a treat with the texture of frozen yogurt or soft-serve ice cream.

“Yonanas strengthens our commitment to developing and marketing innovative products that foster good health and well being,” said Asbury. “From the beginning, Yonanas has been synonymous with fun, delicious, healthy desserts.”

In addition, Legacy has completed its acquisition of small electrics supplier West Bend. Legacy officials said West Bend facilities in West Bend and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, would continue operations with the existing sales and service staff. Legacy plans to add support from its sales, product marketing and technical services divisions.
