Libbey To Distribute Viva Scandinavia’s Teaware

TOLEDO, OH— Libbey Inc. has gained an exclusive retail and food service distribution partnership for the Viva Scandinavia brand in the United States and Canada. The new initiative brings tea-specific beverageware assortments to the company’s product offerings.

“The appeal of tea has grown over the last several years, with more consumer interest in creating a relaxing, Zen-like tea experience at home,” said Bill Foley, CEO of Libbey Inc. “To meet the increased demand, Libbey has partnered with Viva Scandinavia to bring their high-end, modern teaware collections to tea enthusiasts.”

“Viva Scandinavia is very passionate about heightening the enjoyment of tea,” said Kees van Elderen, managing director, sales and marketing for Viva Scandinavia.

The Viva Scandinavia collection includes glass and porcelain teapots, cups and mugs, glasses and carafes for iced tea and cold brew coffee.

“Our balance between Nordic minimalism and premium materials creates teaware that is beautiful in its simplicity and supremely mindful in its function. We are excited to partner with Libbey, a company with such a legacy in the market, to bring Viva Scandinavia to the U.S. and Canada,” van Elderen added.

Among the products Libbey is distributing is Viva’s Bjorn teapot, made with double wall borosilicate glass and silicone, with a stainless steel infuser included. The design is said to have a drip free lid and spout for clean pours, as well as comfort, cool-to-the-touch grips. The teapot, available in 1.2-liter or .65-liter size, is also said to be dishwasher safe.

Viva’s Infusion teapots are available in borosilicate or porcelain. The teapot features a stainless steel tea infuser. A stainless steel and silicone lid seals in freshness and flavor and helps maintain the correct temperature, according to the company. The teapot is also said to feature the drip free lid and spout, comfort grips and is dishwasher safe.

The brand’s Minima Balanced tea cups come in borosilicate glass or porcelain. Minima glass tea cups are available in two sizes and feature a steel tea infuser and cork lid that can double as a coaster. The Minima porcelain cups without the infusers will be available in three colors: Stone Green, Charcoal Blue and Royal Bordeau, with matching lids. Both are dishwasher safe, the company said.
