Lifetime Launches Sabatier, Mossy Oak Cast Iron Collections

CHICAGO— In an effort to resonate with younger shoppers, Lifetime Brands is launching cast iron cookware collections in both its Sabatier and Mossy Oak branded assortments.

The new products, said Bob Varakian, group president for cookware/bakeware, cutlery, pantryware, coffee/tea products, Savora and Built NY divisions, Lifetime Brands, were developed to bring new designs and easy maintenance to the cast iron consumer. The collections will be shown at the International Home + Housewares Show, here.

“A lot of people want to use cast iron, but it’s hard to clean and maintain and it rusts. What we’ve done is we have developed complete lines of rust-resistant cast iron,” Varakian said. “Cast iron is really resonating with young people, so we made sure that every piece is design-forward and every piece looks cohesive.”

Sabatier’s rust-resistant cast iron line is also pre-seasoned so that consumers can use it upon purchase. The products are designed to be used for an array of cooking techniques, including searing, browning, braising, grilling, sautéing, and more, the company said. The line has transitional designs and features helper handles and pouring spouts. Oven safe up to 500° Fahrenheit, it can also be used in the oven, under the broiler, or on the grill and on all heat sources, including gas, electric, induction and ceramic top ranges.

According to Lifetime Brands, the line is constructed of rust-resistant cast iron using technology that creates an all-natural surface that is durable, non-porous, and stick-resistant. This technology is not a coating, is chemical-free, is safe to use with metal utensils and can be placed in the dishwasher, the company said.

Pieces in the Sabatier cast iron collection include a Dutch oven in a 3-quart and a 5.5-quart offering; a selection of skillets ranging from 6.5-inch to 12.5-inch; a 10.5-inch square grill pan; a round grill pan with glass lid and cast iron knob; a rectangular grill press; a single burner reversible grill/griddle; a double burner reversible grill/griddle; and a bean pot.

The Mossy Oak line of cast iron cookware has all of the same features and benefits of the Sabatier collection, the company noted. However, the design is focused more on the outdoorsman. The Mossy Oak’s pre-seasoned rust-resistant cast iron line of cookware includes a 5.5-quart Dutch oven; a 10.5-inch skillet; a 12-inch skillet; a 10.5-inch square grill pan; and a double griddle.
