Linon Taps Mossy Oak For Licensed Furniture Line

LAS VEGAS— Linon Home Décor is building on licensing deals that it recently made to showcase a new trend, but the visitors who stop by its Las Vegas World Market showroom to check out the results will have to look closely to see the advantages, as it is all in camouflage.

Among the introductions Linon plans to feature at its Las Vegas World Market Center showroom is an expansion of a product group it recently previewed, developed from a licensing deal the company cut with Mossy Oak.

Rosanne LaRosa, Linon’s product development manager, said the Mossy Oak camouflage product group that the company initially showed at the High Point Market in the fall, “got a lot of attention. People were not shy. They really like it.”

As a result, Linon decided to produce Mossy Oak camouflage patterns in some of its most popular silhouettes, looks and pricepoints.

“We thought we would translate those looks for someone who might want them in camouflage,” LaRosa said. “We have accent chairs, storage ottomans, tavern sets, office chairs. We basically took something from each category we sell and translated it.”

Suggested retail prices in the Mossy Oak group include $229.99 for an entryway bench and $129.99 for a counter stool.

Linon has new camouflage-clad furniture under a Real Tree license as well, with an office chair in the line coming in at a $229.99 suggested retail price.

LaRosa pointed out that camouflage, which has been associated with rustic and lodge looks, no longer is limited to a few set design categories. Rather, for a lot of consumers today, it has become a fashion statement and has a broader application than might have been the case a few years ago.

Of course, given that Linon would like to have a significant profile at the winter market, not everything it will introduce is clad in camouflage. In fact, Linon will make small additions to segments displayed across its showroom, and it also will add three collections to a recently launched lineup of bathroom furniture.

One major furniture introduction will be Williams, LaRosa maintained. The occasional furniture collection arrives in a transitional style. It will complement existing collections: streamlined, glossy and preppy Peggy and the mid-century modern Perry.

All three, Williams, Perry and Peggy, will enter Linon inventory as the show season gets underway. In the Williams collections, suggested retail prices include $299.99 for a tall TV stand, $199.99 for a console and $159.99 for an end table.
