Maverick has introduced its WiFi Digital Chef Roasting thermometer.
The model ET-736 thermometer can be used for both the oven or the grill and comes with two high-heat waterproof probes. It also includes preset temperatures or the user can input a custom temperature to monitor the cooking progress, including estimated cook time. Multiple timers can be set when preparing different foods at the same time.
According to the company, the water-resistant unit works through a consumer’s home router to connect to the Internet. From there, the user can download information and recipes from the web and share their cooking experience via Facebook and Twitter.
The device can be used with iDevices and is Android compatible across devices including phone, tablet and Kindle Fire. It includes four hours of battery time and has a plug-in rechargeable battery.
Maverick’s WiFi Digital Chef Roasting thermometer is scheduled to ship in November and has a suggested retail price of $159.95.
