Microplane has introduced the Butter Blade, which is designed to slice, spread and form butter into curls.
The topside of the Butter Blade slices pats of butter and can cut through paper wrapping with printed measurements for accurate cooking and baking. The bottom side features three rows of tiny holes that can be pulled across a stick of butter. This design creates soft strands that are said to warm up rapidly for spreading on soft bread, toast, corn on the cob and other items. The rounded tip of the Butter Blade is crafted with a hollow semi-circle to create curls by simply pulling the tip across a stick of butter.
The new Butter Blade is dishwasher-safe and can also be used on cream cheese. It is scheduled to launch at Sur la Table in September and will be available at additional retailers in October. It has a suggested retail price of $9.98.
