The NPD Group’s home division presented its fourth annual industry performance awards during the International Home + Housewares Show Saturday.
Awards were given to small appliance and non-electric housewares brands with the largest increase in market share in 2016, compared to 2015, according to NPD’s Retail Tracking Service. Brands with overall sales among the top 15 in the category were eligible.
This year’s NPD presentation included three new awards presented to top performers in key major home appliance industry segments. These new awards were based on NPD’s Checkout Tracking online service for the major home appliance industry, which captures online sales of major home appliances from consumer receipts.
“Growth in today’s retail environment is increasingly competitive. These awards recognize the brands that are successfully navigating their way through today’s challenges and standing out among the competition,” said Lora Morsovillo, president of NPD’s home division. “It is energizing to witness members of our industry identifying new opportunities, advancing their business, and creating a platform for industry growth.”
