CHICAGO— Ontel Products is following up a successful fourth quarter drive for its Magic Tracks toy racecar set with a new, bigger set geared for in-line toy departments.
Ontel also is widening the retail rollout for its Air Hawk portable air compressor; the Rocky Mountain Tumbler thermal tumbler; the Turbo Scrub rechargeable-powered scrubbing brush; and the Miracle Bamboo Cushion seat cushion.
The original Magic Tracks set, which retails for $19.99, features a battery-powered, LED-lighted racecar and 11 feet of flexible, glow-in-the-dark track that can be shaped into curves and humps.
The new Magic Tracks Mega Set comes with two LED-lighted cars, 18 feet of flexible track and several accessories, such as road signs, trees and a bridge.
Ontel is preparing additional, themed and compatible Magic Track sets for the back half of 2017.
The company’s Air Hawk portable air compressor, which hit retailers earlier this year, is designed for convenient, fast, on-demand inflation of car and bicycle tires, sports balls and other consumer inflatables. The hand-held Air Hawk— resembling a cordless power drill with an air hose— comes with two pop-on power adapters: one for battery-powered cordless use and one for corded use attached to a car outlet.
The Air Hawk compressor, which retails for $59.99, features a digital inflation guide that automatically shuts off the compressor at specified PSI levels.
Ontel’s Rocky Mountain Tumbler is a 30-ounce, double-wall, vacuum-sealed, 18/8 stainless steel tumbler designed to keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12 hours. The tumbler comes with a no-spill lid and retails for $19.99.
Turbo Scrub is a rechargeable, battery-operated scrubbing brush for bathrooms and other household cleaning tasks. The scrubbing head rotates at 300 rpm, and the charge lasts for up to six hours.
Turbo Scrub comes with three scrubbing attachments: a multi-purpose brush, a brush for fixtures and a small brush for grout. A four-foot extension wand is included.
Backed by a short-form DRTV spot featuring TV product host Anthony Sullivan, Turbo Scrub carries a $39.99 retail price.
In addition, Ontel’s new Miracle Bamboo Cushion is a follow-up to the company’s popular Miracle Bamboo Pillow.
The ergonomic seat cushion, designed for improved lower back support, has a one-piece, formed-foam cushion with a cutaway to relieve pressure on the tailbone, according to the company.
The washable “steel blue” bamboo cover has a rubberized gripping bottom for use at home and outdoors, such as at sporting events. The Miracle Bamboo Cushion will ship in October with a $19.99 retail price.
