PicoBrew has introduced the latest addition to its craft beer home brewing system, the Pico Model C, as part of a Kickstarter campaign.
The home craft brewing appliance is said to build on the technology of the company’s original Pico Model S.
“We’ve spent a significant amount of time listening to our customers who were early adopters of the initial Pico to identify areas where we could streamline and simplify the use of the appliance even further,” said Bill Mitchell, CEO, PicoBrew. “By making improvements, brewing fresh craft beer at home can be a reality for an even larger number of craft beer enthusiasts.”
The new model features a sleek, black powder-coated exterior and high-contrast two-line OLED display. It brews existing PicoPaks and freestyle PicoPaks in about two hours and is said to be easier-to-use with a simplified hose connection and dishwasher-safe keg.
The Kickstarter campaign will run through May 12, with a goal of raising $350,000 for production. The unit is said to hit retail in the fall of this year, and will carry an MSRP of $549.
PicoBrew is also set to launch two supporting products: BrewUnlimited and BrewPulse. BrewUnlimited is a new PicoPak subscription service that allows customers to brew as many PicoPaks as they want for $59 per month, including shipping.
BrewPulse is a new mobile application that serves to help manage and control the craft beer life. Users can purchase PicoPaks through the Brew Marketplace, monitor the progress of the brewing cycle in real-time and now track fermentation and carbonation progress to achieve the finished beer. The app will be free for download and is available for iOS and Android and is also compatible with the original Pico Model S.
