Pottery Barn has unveiled an exclusive home goods collaboration with Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The line is the designer’s first foray into home furnishings.
The collection includes over 50 pieces, including textiles, tabletop and home décor. The designs are said to feature an eclectic array of colorful, globally inspired decor, featuring intricate floral and animal artwork, vintage textiles and the rich artistic traditions of India. The line is available online now and in stores on November 1. Prices range from $10.50 to $1,199.
“My goal with this collaboration was to bring exotic whimsy and color into American homes,” added Mukherjee. When designing prints for the home, Sabyasachi tapped artists from his art foundation to help design the artwork and patterns in the collection. The Sabyasachi Art Foundation was established to give indigenous craftspeople due recognition and a means of livelihood, according to the company.
“Sabyasachi is a remarkable talent. He has an incredibly unique vision for color, prints and textures,” said Monica Bhargava, evp/product development, Pottery Barn. “The Indian heritage of pattern and color has been a global influence for centuries. This collaboration with Sabyasachi has led to a very inspirational collection for the holidays.”
